Develop skills in transforming, adapting and editing text-types. The purpose of this task is to develop skills in transforming, adapting and editing text-types for different contexts of delivery.
Submission length: one presentation or digital object + 300 word exegesis
Topic of presentation
Unlike previous assignments, where you were deciding how you might intervene in the editorial process, for this assignment you must revise and edit as a form of adaptation. You will adapt a piece of professional or public writing from one context and audience to another.
For example, you could draw on a series of social media posts to craft a short speech on the same topic. Or, you could adapt a professional article into a poster. You only need to use the information and material from the original source for the content of your submission, but can work creatively with additional visual, design or other elements.
Medium of delivery
You can either:
1. record a short (maximum 2 minutes) video, or

2. create a digital document or object–image, poster, web page, social media posts–
If you choose to record a video, this can be a traditional spoken presentation (as if speaking before a live audience), or it can be an edited video using other elements.
If you choose to create a digital document or object, you should aim to create something appropriate to the medium e.g. a series of tweets on Twitter; a single email message; a single poster or collection of images to share; a single web page–but perhaps using links etc.
Exegesis
Accompanying your submission, you need to include a brief exegesis i.e. a 300-word explanation of how and why you made the adaptation.
In your exegesis, you need to answer the following questions:
What was your imagined purpose in adapting the text?
What differs between the two contexts of delivery, and how did this influence your decisions adapting the text?
You must include a detailed reference and link to the original text, and to any resources referred to or used in making your adaptation.
