I need the paper to cover an abstract, background, literature review and
data analysis. This paper examines the role of the Nanjing Atrocity in reconstructing
both Chinese National Identity among the public, as well as the
political legitimacy of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after the loss
of communism. The promises of the communist narrative had failed to
manifest and the market transition was chaotic. The unifying ideology of
the Chinese public, but also their governing body, was cut off at the
feet and the ideological vacuum left in its wake was impossible to ignore.
