This paper will look at Ponzi schemes.  Characteristics of Ponzi schemes and the reasoning for it being called a Ponzi scheme will be discussed.  Also included will be a review of the case study involving Wilson Energy Resources and how it relates to other Ponzi schemes such as Bernie Madoff’s scheme.  A review of professional conduct as it relates to this case study will be conducted.  Finally, a discussion of  arguments that would be presented as an expert witness for the defense team as well as determinations on what should happen to the SEC accountant as well as the plaintiff’s expert witness.
