“This I Believe” Assignment
This I Believe is based on a 1950s radio program of the same name, hosted by acclaimed journalist Edward R. Murrow. Each day, Americans gathered by their radios to hear compelling essays from the likes of Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Robinson, Helen Keller, and Harry Truman as well as corporate leaders, cab drivers, scientists, and secretaries—anyone able to distill into a few minutes the guiding principles by which they lived. These essayists’ words brought comfort and inspiration to a country worried about the Cold War, McCarthyism, and racial division.
The program has expanded and continued in new radio versions, a number of anthology books, and podcasts. The continued goal is to have people from all different walks of life and backgrounds speak intimately and engagingly about convictions, passions, and worldviews.

You will each write a 200-400 word statement of personal belief on a topic of significance to you, which you will then deliver as a speech.
You may use presentational aids but are not required to do so.( this is a high school essay, so don’t use hard grammar or vocabulary. you can choose any topic for the theme, but just choose some easy, common topic)
